Prep time | 20 minutes |
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cup crisp rice cereal
- 3/4 cups mini semi sweet chocolate chips
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Step 1 | |
In a large bowl stir together the oats, cereal, and chocolate chips. Set aside.
Step 2 | |
In a small sauce pan over medium heat melt the butter, sugar, honey, and syrup, and stir until the sugar is dissolved - about 4-5 minutes. Add vanilla and stir. Let cool in the pan for a few minutes.
Step 3 | |
Pour the syrup mixture over the cereal mixture and stir until completely covered. Press firmly into a greased 9x13 pan. Be sure to really press it into the pan or the bars won't stick together. Let them rest for at least 30 minutes to set up before cutting into bars. |
